Dallas Sidekicks Re-Sign Sebastian Mendez After Rookie Year

Allen, TX (August 5, 2022)- The Dallas Sidekicks have re-signed midfielder, Sebastian Mendez, to the upcoming MASL 2022-2023 season. This will be Mendez’s second season with the Sidekicks and in the MASL following up his incredible rookie year. 


Sebastian Mendez played in 19 games for the Sidekicks and scored a total of 12 goals and 3 assists throughout the season. Three of those total goals were a hat-trick against the Milwaukee Wave on March 24, 2022. 


Mendez rose to the occasion during the February 12, 2022 game, when the Sidekicks played the Florida Tropics at home by scoring the game-winning goal in the penalty shootout. 


During the 2021-2022 MASL Playoffs, Sebastian Mendez scored 2 goals and had 6 shots on goal. 


“With Sebastian, we are looking at investing the years into him to help him grow as a player and as a person. We definitely are really excited about him and everything that he brings to the field with a lot of energy and passion. We hope that translates to positive results and helps pushes us more into the playoffs,” commented General Manager Jessie Vilkofsky on Sebastian Mendez. 


Sebastian Mendez is a Dallas native and a local fan favorite who graduated from Adamson High School in Oak Cliff. He also played collegiate soccer for Paul Quinn College. 


The home opener is December 10th at the Credit Union of Texas Event Center in Allen, TX. Individual tickets for the home opener and season tickets are ON SALE NOW!
