Albert Rodriguez Re-Signs with Sidekicks Until 2026

Allen, Texas (October 19, 2023) – The Dallas Sidekicks have announced the re-signing of leading Sidekicks goal scorer, Albert Rodriguez, until 2026. Last season marked Rodriguez’s first season with the Dallas Sidekicks and in the MASL. Per team and league guidelines, additional terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Rodriguez made his debut with the Sidekicks on December 9^th, 2022, and had three shots on target, but they did not translate into goals. However, in the next game against the Empire Strykers, Rodriguez scored his first brace.

As Rodriguez got more comfortable playing indoor soccer, Rodriguez would go on to score at least once in 14 of the 18 games he played in. With 20 goals scored throughout the season, Rodriguez became one of the top goal scorers in the MASL despite it being his rookie season. Although it was Rodriguez’s first professional season, he instantly impacted the pitch, as he led the Sidekicks in goals scored.

Outside of the Sidekicks, Rodriguez is a Physical Education teacher at Stevens Park Elementary and is an Assistant Coach for the Richland College, his alma mater.

“I’m excited to get back on the field. Playing for the Sidekicks brings me back to when I would watch the Sidekicks as a kid,” commented Rodriguez.
