Bachman Lake Together


Comerica Bank and the Dallas Sidekicks are partnering to spotlight a local area small business for each remaining home game of the season. For the Sidekicks "Youth Soccer Night" against the San Diego Sockers this Sunday at 3:00pm our Spotlight is on Bachman Lake Together.

Bachman Lake Together's (BLT) mission is to unite the Bachman Lake community to fully prepare children for kindergarten – academically, socially and emotionally – so they can thrive in school and in life. With over 40 partners, they focus on system-level change in the community to achieve kindergarten-readiness for the 4,000 + children ages 0-5 in the community.

Currently, many clients lack financial stability and are experiencing greater hurdles to accessing food for children who rely on free/reduced lunch programs. They have shifted their programs and are working with other nonprofit partners to offer a mobile food pantry that provided food for 429 families in its first week open. They also plan to develop and pilot a preventive mental health service campaign and early childhood development kits tailored to their Latino communities’ specific culture and language needs. Funding is requested to support the increased need for basic services for their neighborhood. They anticipate serving 5,000 families with food and educational services.
