Sidekicks Head Coach Pablo Da Silva and player David Ortiz are on their way to the 2021 FIFA Futsal World Cup. Da Silva and Ortiz hopped on a plane to New York then headed overseas.

How are you feeling about the trip to the FIFA Futsal World Cup?

Da Silva states, “I am feeling great. It's an amazing opportunity to represent our country. This is very important for our US National Futsal Team to make it to the FIFA World Cup. These are the moments we work so hard for. This is a big step for us. It is so amazing.”

How do you feel about David playing in this environment?

Da Silva states, “I believe he will do well. I saw his quality in our own team kick arounds for the Sidekicks, so we decided to invite him to our training camp. When he came to camp, he was ready for the opportunity. He was prepared physically to take on the movements of futsal. Now, he made it on the final roster of 16 players. He is young and he can do well. The level will be very high, but I think with some confidence, he can do well. We are going to play the top teams in the world. This will be a great experience for him overall.”

The team has two friendly matches in Slovakia before they arrive to the official World Cup playing grounds in Lithuania.

Team USA kicks off the 2021 FIFA Futsal World Cup on September 14th against the reigning world champions Argentina.
