Dallas Sidekicks Falls To Chicago Mustangs Sunday Afternoon
Allen, Texas (Feb. 12, 2017) – The Dallas Sidekicks fall to 7-11 in Major Arena Soccer League play with a 7-4 loss Sunday afternoon to the Chicago Mustang.
Dallas’ got out to an early 1-0 with a goal scored by Carlos Videla on a set play. Minutes later Chicago turns up the pressure on Dallas’ and it results in a Taylor Bond goal to tie the game up at 1 a piece.
The Dallas Sidekicks offense came out hot in the second quarter with goals scored by Nestor Hernandez and TJ Nelson. Efrain Martinez found the back of the net to cut into the Sidekicks lead 2-3 minutes before halftime. The first half was very physical as both teams committed multiple fouls which resulted in many blue cards. Tonight, Fabinho and Nestor Hernandez face off with their former team the Chicago Mustangs for the first only time during the 2016-17 season.
The Mustangs tied up the game at 3 a piece in the third quarter on a Taylor Bond goal off a feed from Wilo on the set piece. The mustang took their first lead of the game as Ephraim Beard switches the ball to Douglas Dos Santos and he scores to put the Mustangs up 4-3.
The Mustangs double their lead on a Taylor Bond flick header for a hat trick to lead 5-3 in the fourth quarter. The Mustangs extend their lead as Bond finds Edwin Rojas at the back post. The Sidekicks respond with a goal of their own to cut into the Mustangs lead 4-6 with a goal from Richardinho. Seconds later, Osvaldo Rojas scores from his own half after stealing the ball from Dallas and score against the 6th attackers to lead 7-4.
