Dallas Sidekicks Hire Director of Soccer Operations

(ALLEN, TEXAS: May 14th, 2019The Dallas Sidekicks have hired Jesse Llamas as Director of Soccer Operations. Jesse was previously an assistant coach for the Dallas Sidekicks and played for the Sidekicks as a goalkeeper in the early 2000s.

Llamas was born and raised in California and grew up playing the beautiful game of soccer at the age of five. After playing ten years of club soccer in California, he moved to Guadalajara, Mexico where he pursued his dream of playing professional soccer. He played in the 3rd, 2nd, 1A and first division soccer for the Autonoma De Guadalajara Tecos for six years. He then returned to the USA to play in the USISL league for the El Paso Patriots from 2001-2003. After the 2003 USISL season, Llamas was drafted by the Dallas Sidekicks and won Rookie Goalkeeper of the year in 2003. In 2003 Llamas decided to stay in Dallas and pursue his coaching career while obtaining several coaching licenses alongside Tatu, Kevin Smith, and Jason Kreis. In 2006, Llamas was a member of the biggest upset in US Open Cup history when Roma FC became the first amateur team to defeat MLS Side Chivas USA. Llamas saved Juan Francisco Palencia and Jesse Marsh’s PKs respectively for the win.

Jesse has been involved with the Longhorns, ASG, FC Dallas and Solar youth soccer clubs. Jesse has been an Athletic Director for the past thirteen years winning several state titles and has taken the schools he has worked with from mediocrity to success during his tenure. Llamas currently lives in Frisco, Texas with his wife Ellen and his two boys Christiano and Isaac.

The Dallas Sidekicks is an American professional indoor soccer team of the Major Arena Soccer League. The organization was established in 1983, is headquartered in Allen, Texas, and plays all home games at the Allen Event Center.
