Dallas Sidekicks Lose Fourth Straight MASL Game 7-2
Allen, Texas (Jan. 7, 2017) – The Dallas Sidekicks fall to 4-8 in Major Arena Soccer League play with a 7-2 lose Saturday night to the Baltimore Blast.
The Baltimore Blast dominated the first half as they lead 3-0 at halftime with goals scored by Pat Healey and two goals from Tony Donatelli. Donatelli has scored five goals against the Sidekicks this season in two games. The Sidekicks entered the match with a record of 0-4 when trailing at halftime. Tonight was the first matchup between the teams in Baltimore since 2004.
Baltimore’ came out firing in the third quarter with goals scored by Adriano Dos Santos and Vinicius Dantas. Cameron Brown found the back of the net for the Sidekicks to cut into Baltimore’s lead 1-5. Cameron Brown has scored in 23 consecutive Major Arena Soccer League matches.
Cameron Brown achieved his feat for the Dallas Sidekicks across two seasons in 2015-16. Brown missed game 12 of last season at Brownsville, but he scored at least one goal in games 9, 10, 11, and 13-20 of last season as well as all 12 games of this year.
Baltimore closed out the game on a 2-1 goal run with Elton de Oliveira scoring two goals. Carlos Videla scored the second goal for Dallas but Baltimore’s offense was too much to handle.
The Sidekicks are now 0-14 during the Simon Bozas era when trailing at halftime.The annual Dallas Sidekicks Alumni game will take place during halftime of our Jan. 14 game vs. Turlock Express.
The Sidekicks will be holding a Faith & Family Fun Day on January 22nd. The day will be filled with kid activities, games on the concourse, inflatables and giveaways. January 22nd is also $2.00 popcorn, hotdog and soda.
