Former Mavs Dancer Named Dance Director for Dallas Sidekicks Dancers

(ALLEN, TEXAS: September 26th, 2019) The Dallas Sidekicks have hired Janae Green as Dance Director for the Dallas Sidekicks Dancers.

Green was born and raised in El Paso, Texas where she first discovered her love for dance. She attended the University of North Texas, where she received the rookie of the year award and became the team's captain in her final three years at the school. She cheered and performed at bowl games, conference basketball championships, and the Carnival Cruise Line.

After college, Janae auditioned and became an NBA dancer for the Dallas Mavericks. She traveled around the country and internationally to several cities including Shenzhen, Shanghai, and Guangzhou for the NBA Global games, and performed with various artists including Carol G and Kid 'n Play. She's appeared in the team's annual dance team calendar and played an active role as a volunteer in the Dallas community. Janae completed four seasons as a Dallas Mavericks Dancer.

In addition to dancing professionally, Janae works a full-time job as a recruiter at a top mobile development firm. In her free time, she enjoys makeup, spending time with family and friends, her dog Polo, and works to share her love of dance with the rest of the world.

When asked what being the Dance Director of the Dallas Sidekicks Dancers means to her, Janae said, “I am so incredibly grateful to have the opportunity to empower these women and train them to be professionals on and off the field.”

She came into the interview with a notebook of ideas on how to grow the Dallas Sidekicks organization as a whole and she has already been working behind the scenes to bring our Dallas Sidekicks Dancers to elite status. Former Dance Director Dusty Solis interviewed Janae and knew she was the right person for the job which sealed the deal for us.”
