Flash Say Hasta La Próxima to Sidekicks

Monterrey, MX (December 2, 2019)– The Dallas Sidekicks suffered a devastating loss in their first game in Mexico in the 2019-2020 regular season, losing 14-1 to the Monterrey Flash. The Sidekicks will be on the road in Mexico for their next game as well which is against Sonora Soles on December 4th, 2019 at 9.00 PM CT in Sonora, Mexico at Centro de Usos Multiples before returning home on Dec. 14th at the Allen Event Center.

The first quarter started with rookie Sidekicks goalkeeper Carlos Enriquez in goal with his first ever MASL start. Within seconds of the start to the quarter Monterrey’s Miguel Vaca scored a goal to take the Flash into the lead 1-0. The Flash continued to pepper the Sidekicks goalkeeper with shots. Toward the end of the quarter the Flash’s Miguel Vaca got his second of the night to bring their lead up 2-0. The Sidekicks went on the power play when Edgar Flores of the Flash got a blue card for holding Sidekicks forward Cameron Brown, but the they are unable to score during the power play.

The second quarter opened with the Flash’s Edgar Flores scoring a goal within seconds. Then Enriquez lost control of the ball and the Flash’s Brayan Aguilar scored to bring the Flash’s lead up 4-0. The refs then called Sidekicks player Frederico Moojen for holding and the Flash went on the power play at 0:45 into the quarter. The Flash scored on the power play with Brayan Aguilar getting his second goal of the quarter to bring the Flash up 5-0. The ball moved up and down the pitch, but the Flash controlled the play and the Flash’s Miguel Vaca got a hattrick with a bicycle kick and brought the Flash up 6-0 late in the second. The Flash grabbed yet another goal, this time coming from Edgar González and brought the Flash up 7-0.

The third quarter started, and the Flash scored at 2:49 and Edgar Flores got his second of the game and brought the Flash up 8-0. The Flash then went on the power play at 7:25 after Sidekicks player Chris Sendejas was called for tripping and the Flash capitalized with Damian Garcia bringing the Flash up 9-0. The refs called Sidekicks player Victor Almendariz for contact above the shoulder which put the Flash on the power play. The Flash’s Damian Garcia got his second of the night on the power player and Monterrey led 10-0. The Sidekicks were then assessed a blue card and the Flash received a penalty kick which Edgar González put into the back of the net and brought the Flash up 11-0 at the end of the quarter.

At 2:16 in the fourth quarter the Flash’s Edgar González got his third of the night and Flash held the lead at 12-0. The quarter showed another goal for the Flash at 3:20 by Eduardo Garay and brought their lead up 13-0. Another blue card was assessed against Almendariz of the Sidekicks for contact above the shoulder and the Flash went on the power play, but the Flash quickly received a blue card for Erick John Ponce’s contact above the shoulder and both teams were short-handed. Neither side scored short-handed during their respective power plays. The Sidekicks got their first goal of the game coming from rookie Victor Almendariz in his MASL appearance and cut the Flash’s lead 13-1 late in the fourth. Sidekicks player RJ Luevano then got a blue card and the Flash’s Miguel Vaca gets his fourth goal of the game and the Flash went up 14-1 to end the game.
