Forward Albert Rodriguez signs with Dallas Sidekicks for Upcoming Season

Allen, TX (December 9, 2022)- The Dallas Sidekicks have announced the signing of forward, Albert Rodriguez. This will be Rodriguez’s first time playing in the MASL and with the Sidekicks. Per team and league policies, the terms of the agreement were not disclosed.  


Rodriguez was born on August 15, 1987, and grew up in Oak Cliff, Texas. He played collegiate soccer at Dallas College Richland and helped secure Richland’s fourth national championship in 2006. 

 

After his time at Richland, Rodriguez transferred to Midwestern State University. During his senior year at MSU, Rodriguez led the team in goals with 17 goals scored. Also, he received NCAA Division 2 First Team All-American honors. 

 

After MSU, Rodriguez played for the NTX Rayados and helped lead the team to a record nine straight US Open Cup appearances. 

 

Outside of Sidekicks, Rodriguez is the assistant men’s soccer coach at Richland College where he has a 56-0-2 record while coaching the team. Rodriguez is also a physical education teacher at Stevens Park Elementary in Oak Cliff, Texas. 

 

The Dallas Sidekicks have their first game of the season TOMORROW Saturday, December 10th at the Credit Union of Texas Event Center in Allen, Texas.
