Sidekicks Look to Avenge Loss in Mexico
(ALLEN, TEXAS: Jan. 8th, 2019) – The Dallas Sidekicks play their second matchup against the Monterrey Flash on Jan. 13th, 2019 at 3.00 PM CT at home in Allen, Texas at the Allen Event Center presented by Nue Vodka.
The Dallas Sidekicks played the Monterrey Flash on Jan. 6th at Monterrey Arena. The Sidekicks stayed with the Flash for the first half bringing the game 2-2 going into halftime. The Flash made it all the way to the Ron Newman Cup last season, so keeping on pace with the Flash showed the true grit and strength of this 2018-2019 Sidekicks team. The Sidekicks ultimately fell 8-2 in the Jan. 6th matchup, but the Sidekicks are looking to bounce back on Sunday.
Rookie goalkeeper Fernando Cortes talked about the loss, “If you know me, I hate to lose. But tonight, we lost putting up a fight. We beat ourselves playing one of, if not the, best team in the league.” Cutting out the errors on the Sidekicks side will prove to make a huge difference in the game on Sunday.
The Sidekicks’ next regular season game is on the road against the El Paso Coyotes on Jan. 19th at 8.15 PM CT at the El Paso County Coliseum in El Paso, Texas. Fans can watch the game on MASL.tv (https://bit.ly/2fwjWcb) or stay tuned to the Sidekicks’ social media pages for updates.
