The Dallas Sidekicks met little resistance in their 2016-17 Major Arena Soccer League season opener on Saturday, blitzing the El Paso Coyotes for a 10-2 victory from the Allen Event Center.

Dallas rolled despite facing a 1-0 deficit just three minutes into the match, but recovered with an equalizer in the fifth minute by Jamie Lovegrove and never looked back. On the night, the Sidekicks racked up an arena-record 55 shots on goal in the lopsided win.

Forward Cameron Brown paced the squad with a hat trick, while Lovegrove netted two goals and T.J. Nelson, Cody Ellis, Arthur Ivo, Carlos Videla and Fernando Garza all found the back of the net.

Juan Gamboa earned the win in goal, as Dallas improved to 1-0 to begin the season.

Up next, the Sidekicks embark on a three-day, three-game road trip that includes outings against the Coyotes on Friday, the San Diego Sockers on Saturday and Atletico Baja in Tijuana on Sunday. Dallas' next home game will be Nov. 12 from the AEC against San Diego.
