Kristian Quintana Returns for Year Five

(ALLEN, TEXAS: May 25, 2020) Dallas Sidekicks veteran defender, Kristian Quintana, has had four seasons with the organization and he’s ready for more.

As a Dallas area native, he hasn’t strayed too far from home. His soccer career started at South Garland High School and he then played for Richland Junior College. From there, he was given an opportunity with Texas A&M International and ultimately joined the Sidekicks organization.

With his ability and skill, he was offered opportunities to play with multiple outdoor teams in the U.S., but Quintana wanted to grow as a player in the city that raised him.

“I grew up in Dallas,” said Quintana. “This is my home so whenever they offered me the opportunity to play for the Dallas Sidekicks, I loved the idea of staying home and having all my friends and family come out and support the team.”

Although Quintana is no stranger to the game, there are still things that he thinks he can work on for the 2020-2021 season.

“I think confidence and going back to watch the games so that I can learn from my mistakes,” said Quintana. “I think that would help me so much because I’ll be able to fix the errors that come out every week.”

In the 2019-2020 season, the Sidekicks had several close-in-score games that resulted in hard-fought losses.

As a team that added several new players to the roster last season, Quintana said that he believes that the 2020-2021 season will look better for the team.

“I think naturally the team is going to get better for next season,” said Quintana. “We didn’t win too many games, but it was because everyone was in a learning process.”

Quintana explained that indoor soccer differs greatly from outdoor soccer because of the rules and formations.

Now that the team is better prepared, Quintana is looking forward to accomplishing some goals next season.

“I think that our goal as a team is to have a better record than we did last year and to prove that we aren’t just good outdoor players. We can also play the game of indoor soccer, “said Quintana. “We want to make it to the playoffs and go far.”
