Midfielder Zane Garcia Signs Rookie Contract

Allen, Texas (December 1, 2022)- The Dallas Sidekicks have signed midfielder Zane Garcia to a rookie contract for the 2022-2023 season. Per team and league policies, the terms of the agreement were not disclosed. 

Garcia came to the Sidekicks at the Dallas Sidekicks Combine over the Summer. Immediately, he impressed Head Coach Ricardinho and Assistant Head Coach Fabinho and has significantly improved over the preseason.  

Garcia was born on November 11, 2003, and grew up in Lubbock, Texas. He then moved to the Keller, Texas area and graduated from high school at Fossil Ridge High School in 2022. Garcia played soccer for Fossil Ridge and received all-district first-team honors in the 2021 and 2022 seasons. 

Growing up, Garcia also played for soccer clubs in the Dallas-Fort Worth area such as Solar, Rayos, and the FC Dallas Academy. In April 2022, Garcia played in the 2022 Dallas Cup with the FC Dallas Academy U19 academy team. 

Outside of the Sidekicks, Garcia goes to Tarrant County College. He likes to play basketball and video games in his free time.
