Portuguese Forward Rui Dourado Signs with Sidekicks for the 2023-2024 Season

Allen, Texas (December 6, 2023)- The Dallas Sidekicks have announced the signing of forward, Rui Dourado, for the 2023-2024 MASL season. This will mark Dourado’s first season with the Sidekicks. Per team and league guidelines, additional terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

 Dourado is a Portuguese forward who grew up in New Bedford, Massachusetts. Dourado played club soccer for Expos FC and played high school soccer at New Bedford High School. This past Summer, Dourado attended the Dallas Sidekicks Combine where he caught the attention of Head Coach Ed Puskarich and the rest of the Sidekicks coaching staff.

 When asked about what it means for Dourado to join the Sidekicks, he said, “I’m excited to begin my first professional season with the Sidekicks because they have a great reputation with an extensive history and are a great family.”

 “I’ve been training hard every day and pushing myself. My goal this season is to score more than 20 goals and help the team reach the playoffs again,” commented Dourado.
