(ALLEN, TEXAS: March 25, 2021) – The Dallas Sidekicks face the Ontario Fury in the second game of round one with a home game to be played at the Allen Event Center on Sunday, March 28th at 3:00pm. The Fury pulled out a dramatic 9-7 win in California Wednesday night in a game that was in doubt until Ontario scored with 35 seconds left to seal the win.

Ontario raced out to a 3-0 lead scoring on their first three shots, but Dallas battled all night outshooting the Fury 32-18 and coming up just short. Ontario were forced on their heels for much of the game having to block seven shots and with their goalie Claysson de Lima having to make an incredible 18 saves. The series now shifts back to Texas where the Sidekicks look to even the series at one game each which would force a 15-minute mini-game to decide who advances to the semifinals.

Oscar Romero scored a hat-trick for Dallas while forward Felipe De Sousa added two after lighting up the MASL all season and finishing with the second most goals in the league. Midfielders Lipe, who made the All-Star game after a strong rookie performance last season, and Julio Varela also scored for the Sidekicks.

The Fury finished with the second seed in the league and were able to pick their first-round opponent with top seeded Florida receiving an automatic bye. Ontario selected Dallas, who they had not faced all season, and perhaps do not match up as well against as some other teams. They nearly paid the price on Wednesday and now must be worried about having to face the Sidekicks at the Allen Event Center where they are a much stronger team than on the road. It should be an exciting match and a fight to the end as both teams try to advance to the MASL final four which will be held in Kansas City.

Playoff tickets for March 28th can be purchased on the Sidekicks Ticket Page or by calling the Dallas Sidekicks front office at 469-393-0160.
