Sidekicks Fall 8-10 After Exciting Saturday Night Matchup

Mesquite, Texas (March 11, 2023)- The Dallas Sidekicks faced the Mesquite Outlaws for the final time this season on Saturday night in Mesquite, Texas.

The first quarter of the game was Outlaws heavy with all three goals being scored by the Outlaws. The first goal of the game was scored by Luiz Morales in the fifth minute. Five minutes later, Morales scored his second of the game. At the 13-minute mark, Outlaws player, Axel Chakounte, scored making the end of the first quarter score 0-3.

Despite the rocky start from the Sidekicks in the first quarter, the Sidekicks kept together defensively and had 20 shots on goal. The first Sidekicks goal was a power play goal by Blas Pérez at the five-minute mark. However, late into the quarter, Outlaws player, Stephen Gonzales scored a last-minute goal making the score 1-4.

Early into the third quarter, Outlaws player, Brenden Lee scored making the score 1-5. Despite this, Sidekicks scored 4 unanswered goals making it a tied game at 5-5. These Sidekicks goals were scored by Ahmed Zaky, Jamie Lovegrove, Blas Pérez, and VcMor Eligwe. At the 12-minute mark of the quarter, Outlaws player Jorge Deleon scored, and 16 seconds later, Outlaws scored another by Odaine Sinclair. Jamie Lovegrove scored the last goal in the quarter at the 12:44-minute mark. Going into the fourth quarter, the Sidekicks were down by one with the score 7-8.

Sidekicks’ player, Albert Rodriguez scored a power play four minutes into the fourth quarter and tied up the game at 8. Shortly after, Outlaws went up by one with the goal by David Ortiz. Sidekicks tied it up again with a goal by Flavio Guzman. The possibilities of a Sidekicks lead were soon short-lived after goals by Outlaws players Pablo Da Silva and David Ortiz.  The final score of the game was 8-10.
