In the third quarter, Wave player, Andre Hayne was awarded a blue card for tripping. 28 seconds into the Sidekicks power play, Albert Rodriguez chipped the ball to Blas Pérez and headed it into the net regaining the lead for the Sidekicks. Four minutes later, the Wave tied the game back up with a goal by Derek Huffman. Albert Rodriguez then was awarded a blue card for kicking and the Wave capitalized on the man advantage with a goal by Ricardo Carvalho. For the first time in the game, the Wave had the lead at 2-3.

Sidekicks rookie forward, David Texeira tied the game and scored his first professional indoor goal at the 3:11 minute mark. Two minutes later, Wave player, Ian Bennett scored regaining the lead for the Wave.
