by Caitlin Reilly

Allen, Texas (February 16, 2023)- The Dallas Sidekicks faced the San Diego Sockers for the second time at home this season and third overall.

The first and second quarters of the game were classic indoor soccer with lots of action and goals scored. The Sockers opened the scoring sheet of the game when they scored two goals. One goal by Christian Gutierrez and one by Charlie Gonzalez. However, Sidekicks player, Blas Pérez answered back and tied up the game at 2. Jamie Lovegrove also assisted with both goals. The Sockers ended the quarter by adding one more goal which was scored by Felipe Gonzalez. At the end of the first quarter, the score was 2-3.

In the second quarter, Sidekicks player, VcMor Eligwe scored 10 seconds into the quarter tying the game back up. However, that was quickly dismissed as the Sockers scored 24 seconds later. The Sockers then capitalized on the lead by scoring three more goals. Going into halftime, the score was 3-7.

Unlike the first half, the third quarter of the game had no goals on either side. Late into the fourth quarter, Blas Pérez scored his third goal of the game. However, that was not enough to win the game making the final score 4-7.
