Sidekicks fall to San Diego Sockers on Youth Sports Night

Allen, Texas (February 3, 2024) – The Dallas Sidekicks faced the San Diego Sockers for the second time this season on Saturday.


Sidekicks player, Ahmed Zaky, scored the first goal of the game. Three minutes later, the Sockers responded with a goal by Drew Ruggles. Two minutes later, the Sockers gained the lead with a goal by Kraig Chiles.


47 seconds into the second quarter, the Sidekicks tied the game back up with a goal by Oscar Romero. Five minutes later, Sockers player, Tavoy Morgan scored regaining the lead. Sidekicks player, Albert Rodriguez tied the game again at the 7:02 minute.  Three minutes later, the Sockers scored three more goals in the second quarter with two goals scored by Chiles and one goal by Morgan. At halftime, the score was 3-6.


At halftime, the Sidekicks replaced starting goalkeeper, Juan Gamboa, with Parker Lackland. However, that change was not enough because the Sockers continued their scoring streak with three more goals. These goals were scored by Brandon Escoto, Charlie Gonzalez, and Christian Gutierrez. At the end of the third quarter, the score was 3-9.


Four minutes into the fourth quarter, the Sockers added one more goal to the score sheet with a goal by Leonardo De Oliveira. The final score of the match was 3-10.
