Allen, Texas (March 15, 2021)– The Dallas Sidekicks lost their final two road games of the regular season over the weekend dropping the first game in St. Louis 6-3 and the second game in Kansas City 13-4. Dallas will wrap up the regular season at home on Saturday Night, March 20th, as they face the San Diego Sockers at the Allen Event Center at 7:00pm.

GAME ONE

On Friday night the Sidekicks got off to a slow start and fell behind 4-0 to the Ambush by the early second quarter. The team then started playing much better and scored three of the games final five goals to cut the deficit in half to 6-3. Julio Varela scored the first goal for Dallas before Felipe De Sousa, the teams leading scorer, got the second goal. De Sousa would also pick up an assist on the final goal scored by veteran Freddie Moojen, however, the team would not be able to overcome their slow start.

GAME TWO

The Sidekicks second match would see the team start much stronger and get out to a 2-0 lead by the end of the first quarter against the Comets. Kansas City, however, would wrap up the third seed in the MASL thanks in large part to a second quarter in which they outscored Dallas 6-0. Once again Julio Varela would score the first goal for the Sidekicks. Felipe De Sousa would get his fourth hat-trick of the season accounting for the rest of the Sidekicks goals in the game.

With the four goals scored this weekend, De Sousa is second in the league and only two goals off the top scorer who he can catch this Saturday at home with another strong performance. The second year forward now has 17 goals in just eight games trailing only Florida's Ian Bennet with 19 but who has played five more games this season than De Sousa. He also is third in the league with a 2.3 points-per-game average. Perhaps the Brazilian will also be inspired by the Sidekicks "Brazilian Carnival Night" at the Allen Even Center.

Be sure to catch the Sidekicks next home game as they host the San Diego Sockers this Saturday, March 20th at 7:00pm. For tickets visit the Sidekicks Ticketmaster page or call the Sidekicks at 469-393-0160.
