Sidekicks Finish Regular Season Saturday Against Sockers

(ALLEN, TEXAS: March 18, 2021) – The Dallas Sidekicks take on the San Diego Sockers in their final game of the regular season on Saturday, March 20th at 7:00pm at the Allen Event Center. It will be a "Brazilian Carnival Night" as the Sidekicks celebrate their long history of important Brazilian players.

This year's top goal scorer, Felipe De Sousa, fittingly is Brazilian himself. His 17 goals scored trails the MASL leader by just two goals despite playing in five less games. Florida's Ian Bennett, with 19 goals, has a slight lead but his regular season is already finished so with a couple of goals De Sousa will tie him and his fourth hat-trick of the season would put him atop the league statistics.

The Sockers are lead by midfielder Brandon Escoto (10 goals, 2 assists) and forward Leonardo De Oliveira (5 goals, 7 assists) who each have 12 points through nine games played. San Diego has struggled as of late having lost thier last four games but all have been close with two decided by two goals and the other two each one goal affairs. Goalie Boris Pardo is considered the best in the league and his league leading goals against average (4.01) and league leading save percentage (7.53%) certainly help boost his reputation.

The Sidekicks will be looking to avenge their 5-3 loss to the Sockers back on January 31st. Brandon Escoto was the hero for the visitors with four goals included one with about 30 seconds to seal the narrow win.

The Sidekicks will still be implementing a limited seating capacity policy with socially distanced seats. Masks are still  required and the Allen Event Center has  many safety protocols in place this season to ensure the safety of both players and fans.
