(ALLEN, TEXAS: January 25, 2021) – The Dallas Sidekicks take on the San Diego Sockers in their fourth game of the season on Sunday, January 31st at 3:00pm at the Allen Event Center. It will be Youth Soccer Night as the Sidekicks focus on youth soccer here in the DFW area.

The Sidekicks are looking to pick up their first win of the season while the Sockers play their first game of the season Friday night in Kansas City against the Comets before traveling to Dallas for their second game. The two teams have a long history of facing one another in professional indoor soccer.

In 2019, the Sidekicks hosted the Sockers featuring US Soccer Legend Landon Donovan much to the delight of local soccer fans. In the last matchup between the two storied clubs, it was the Sockers pulling out a close 6-4 win back on February 23rd of last year. It was an exciting match with San Diego scoring two first quarter goals to jump out to a 2-0 lead, however, Dallas would score two of their own in the second quarter to tie the score at 2-2 at halftime. Each team would score a pair of goals to have things leveled at 4-4 in the final quarter. A Sockers goal would force the Sidekicks to put on their Sixth attacker with two minutes remaining in an attempt to pull even and San Diego would take advantage closing out the game with a late goal.

San Diego is one of the most successful professional indoor teams of all-time whose four championships match the four of the Sidekicks. The Sockers hold the record for the longest winning streak in United States professional soccer history. The streak, which began on December 29, 2010, was snapped after 48 games by a 6–5 overtime road loss to the Sidekicks on January 27, 2013.

In honor of Youth Soccer Night the Sidekicks are pleased to announced that FC Dallas Head Coach Luchi Gonzalez will be the honorary "First Kick". Luchi represents youth soccer well in the DFW area having been in charge of the FC Dallas Youth Academy before being named as the seventh coach in FC Dallas history. His emphasis on developing youth players is a testament to the FC Dallas philosophy of cultivating "home grown players" in order to eventually play for the first team.

Seating Capacity for indoor soccer games at the Allen Event Center is 6,200 with the state of Texas limiting capacity to 50% or 3,100. The Sidekicks took things a step further reducing seating capacity to just 1,741 available seats or approximately 28% of all total seats to ensure safe social distancing between fans so. be sure to get your tickets before they are gone. The Sidekicks, also with the City of Allen and Allen Event Center, have put many safety protocols in place this season to ensure the safety of both players and fans.

Single-game tickets are on sale now for all home games along with season tickets still available. Call the Sidekicks at 469-393-0160 for more information or visit the Sidekicks Ticket Page to select your seats.
