Sidekicks leave St. Louis Without A Win In Pre-season Play

Allen, TX (November 18, 2018)– The Dallas Sidekicks fell to the St. Louis Ambush, 8-5, in exhibition play Sunday afternoon on the road in St. Louis, MO. Jamie Lovegrove led the way for the Sidekicks with 2 goals and Fernando Cortes did a great job with his first appearance as a Sidekick in goal with 13 saves. Ambush midfielder Antonio Manfut scored 2 goals with 5 shot attempts.
The Sidekicks ended the first half up 3-1 against the Ambush with Jamie Lovegrove, Allyson Angieksi, and Nestor Hernandez each scoring a goal. The Ambush’s loan goal in the first half was scored by forward Jerjer Gibson.
The second half saw a ton of action on both sides of the ball, with Sidekicks player Anthony Powell and Jamie Lovegrove each scoring a goal. Ultimately, however, the Ambush walked away with a win in this pre-season play outscoring the Sidekicks 8-5. Gustavo Piedra was named the Sidekicks’ Man of the Match, as decided by the coaching staff.
The Dallas Sidekicks will travel to Hidalgo, Texas to take on the Rio Grande Valley Barracudas Sunday, December 2nd, 2018 in the Sidekicks’ first game of the 2018-2019 regular season. Kickoff for the game is at 5.35PM CT and can be streamed live on MASL.TV.
