Kansas City, MO (March 4, 2022) – The Dallas Sidekicks (8-8-1) lost heavily 13-6 against the Kansas City Comets (11-4-1) on Friday night at the Cable Dahmer Arena.

In an eight-goal thriller, the Sidekicks were overscored 5-3. Four minutes into the first quarter, Luiz Morales scored the first goal of the night to give the Sidekicks the partial 1-0 lead. After a fantastic assist from Gustavo Piedra, Felipe De Sousa quickly extended the Sidekicks' lead. With six minutes left into the clock, Luiz Morales scored his second goal of the night to hand the North Texas side the lead once again. Following Morales' goal, the home side scored three past Estevan Vazquez.

The Kansas City Comets put two goals past Vazquez in the second quarter of the match. The Sidekicks attempted to score some goals but were unfortunate in their attempts to accomplish that and get back into the game. With 40 seconds left into the second quarter, Jamie Lovegrove caught the Comets' goalkeeper off his line to pull one goal back for the Sidekicks to make 7-4.

Within the first opening minutes of the third quarter, the Comets extended their lead. Following a blue card violation of Sidekicks defender Rio Ramirez, the Comets extended their lead by five goals to make it 9-5 in their favor. Quickly, the Comets scored two more goals to extend their lead further. Sebastian Mendez scored the Sidekicks' fifth goal of the night. The home side quickly responded with a goal in their favor.

During the fourth quarter, both teams attempted numerous times to score a goal but weren't unsuccessful in getting one past each other's keepers. The Comets broke the Sidekicks' defense within the last four minutes of the match. Bradlee Baladez scored the final Sidekicks' goal of the night resulting in the game ending in a Sidekicks 13-6 defeat.

Despite scoring two goals in the match, Luiz Morales shared his thoughts about Friday night's match:

"We're a bit disappointed," said Morales. "We started with the right foot, but we couldn't keep that consistency. Hopefully, on Sunday, we can keep the same consistency until the last whistle."

The Sidekicks return to the Credit Union of Texas Event Center to face the Kansas City Comets again this Sunday, March 6, 2022, at 3 PM CST.
