Sidekicks Midfielder Rafael Rodriguez Re-Signs For 3 Years

by Caitlin Reilly

Allen, Texas (September 26, 2023) - The Dallas Sidekicks announced on Tuesday that midfielder Rafael Rodriguez re-signed with the club until 2026. Per team and league guidelines, additional terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Last season, Rodriguez was a late addition to the squad signing with the club on March 3rd. That night, Rodriguez made his debut with the club and scored his first professional indoor goal. Despite being a late addition, Rodriguez played in the remaining eight games of the season.

Growing up, Rodriguez played for the FC Dallas Academy and graduated from Conrad High School in Dallas. Outside of playing for the Sidekicks, Rodriguez coaches for the Rayados Soccer Academy in Dallas.

Even with a late arrival to the team, Rodriguez knows that stamina is an important element in indoor soccer, and he hopes to improve his stamina during the off season so he can better prepare for the season.

“Being able to represent my hometown team is a dream come true. I can’t wait to get back on the field and compete and put the Sidekicks back on top,” commented Rodriguez.
