Sidekicks Re-sign Diego Burato

by Caitlin Reilly

The Dallas Sidekicks have announced the re-signing of Brazilian midfielder Diego Burato for the upcoming 2021-2022 season. He is originally from Criciúma, Brazil and this will be Burato’s third season with the Dallas Sidekicks. Previously, Burato played futsal at the top level in Italy for the teams Montesilvano, Pescara, and Pesaro.

Outside of the Sidekicks, Burato is a youth futsal coach and loves to watch futsal games in his free time. He is very involved in the Dallas community, mentoring children in Sidekicks camps and clinics.

To prepare for the upcoming season, Burato is training every day at the gym and watching previous games to help improve his indoor soccer skills.

When asked about his upcoming goals this season, Burato said, “My personal goal is to play a final championship game, we know that we are starting a new chapter, new philosophy but nothing is impossible.”

Coach Pablo comments on Burato, “He knows what it takes to be a champion and is a technical player that has a lot of experience in a professional futsal environment. I truly believe he can be as successful in indoor as he was in futsal.”

Don’t miss out on any of the fun this season!  The Sidekicks home opener is on December 4, 2021 at 7:00 pm at the Credit Union of Texas Event Center against the St Louis Ambush. Season tickets are on sale now, and individual game tickets will be on sale this week.
