Sidekicks Sign MASL Draft Pick, Colin O’Keefe for Upcoming Season

Allen, Texas (November 29, 2023)- The Dallas Sidekicks have announced that 2023 MASL Draft Pick and former Harrisburg Heat midfielder, Colin O’Keefe, has signed with the Sidekicks until 2026. This will mark O’Keefe’s second season in the MASL and first season with the Sidekicks. Per team and league guidelines, additional terms of the agreement were not disclosed.  

O’Keefe grew up in Buffalo, New York. In 2016, O’Keefe played collegiate soccer at Erie Community College and played there for 2 years. In the 28 games, O’Keefe appeared in, he scored 9 goals and 12 assists. While at Erie, O’Keefe was named 2x 1^st All WYNAC and 2^nd team all-region. In 2018, O’Keefe transferred to Buffalo State College and was awarded with another all-conference selection.  

After college, he played outdoor soccer with FC Buffalo and FC Miami City. In the 2021-2022 MASL season, O’Keefe signed with the Harrisburg Heat but only played in two games. 

 In 2023, O’Keefe took a chance and signed up for the MASL Draft and Combine. He was drafted by the Dallas Sidekicks in the second round and was invited into the Dallas Sidekicks training camp to earn a contract. With O’Keefe’s persistence, Coach Ed Puskarich offered him a contract until 2026. 

 “I’m excited for a fresh start. The Sidekicks have a great history of success and I want to help them reach those successes again. To do that, I want to make the game day roster consistently, play my role, and score goals and assists,” commented O’Keefe. 

The Dallas Sidekicks start on the road at the Monterrey Flash on Sunday, December 3^rd at 3:30 PM. The game will be streamed live on Twitch at twitch.tv/masl_soccer.
