Sidekicks Sign Midfielder Yahir Romero for the 2023-2024 MASL Season

Allen, Texas (December 12, 2024) – The Dallas Sidekicks have announced the signing of midfielder, Yahir Romero. The 2023-2024 season will mark Yahir’s first season with the Sidekicks and in the MASL. Per team and league guidelines, additional terms of the agreement were not disclosed. 

 

Romero grew up in Fort Worth, Texas, and went to high school at Everman High School. While at Everman, Romero was a part of the soccer team there. Growing up, Romero also played club soccer with FC Dallas and Odyssey SC. 

 

After high school, Romero played collegiate soccer at Western Texas College. In 26 games, Romero has scored 2 goals and 2 assists. Romero now joins the Sidekicks with his older brother and midfielder, Esai Romero.

 

Romero made his Sidekicks debut on December 28, 2023, against the Wave. In the next game against the Empire Strykers on January 6, Romero scored his first professional goal. 

 When 

“Playing for the Sidekicks is important to me because this is my first professional contract and playing with my brother is a blessing,” commented Romero.
