SIDEKICKS SIGN VETERAN DEFENDER CODY ELLIS

Allen, Texas (December 29, 2021) – The Dallas Sidekicks have announced that former player Cody Ellis officially re-signed for the 2021-2022 MASL season.

Ellis is no stranger to the Sidekicks community as well as the MASL. He was with the Sidekicks from 2012 – 2019 racking up major statistics that led him to being recognized by the league for his productivity.

How do you feel joining the Sidekicks organization again?

Playing first and foremost. I have taken quite a bit of time off, and I am just excited to get back out here in MASL soccer. I miss it. I am ready to play again.

What are you going to specifically do as a play to help this team out?

I know the game well, so I am going to help the young players stay organized in the flow of the game. For myself, I still have a little bit of work to get back in shape, but other than that we are going to focus on pressing the young guys to learn a little quicker to help this team move forward.

What is the team going to have to do to improve?

Honestly, with the new signing I think the only thing we were really missing is the veteran knowledge out there to be able to maintain throughout the entire game. I feel like through the first half, the team was on point, but after that the team would slip off. With all respect for them, this is a tough game to learn, but that is why we are here.

How do you fit into the plans of Ricardinho?

I played with him back in the day, and our brains think alike when it comes to indoor. I learned from him and Fabio alongside them when they played. Now we just have to bring it together with the young players, and we will be good to go.

The next home game is this Thursday, December 30^th at 7:00 PM against the St. Louis Ambush. Doors open at 6:00 PM at the Credit Union of Texas Event Center.
