Sidekicks Suffer Loss against Flash

Allen, TX (January 9, 2020)– The Dallas Sidekicks lost at home against the Monterrey Flash 9-4. The Sidekicks next game will be on the road against the Turlock Cal Express on Jan. 25th, 2020 at 8.00 PM CT in Turlock, CA at Turlock Indoor Soccer.

The Flash came out strong and took a few shots on goal that Sidekicks defenders kept out of the net. The Flash then stepped past a defender and Brayan Aguilar put one into the net and brought the Flash up 1-0 with 8:51 left in the quarter. A few minutes later the Flash slipped another into the net, this time coming from Jorge Rios and brought the Flash up 2-0. Th Flash’s Damian Garcia received a foul and the Sidekicks Luiz Felipe (Lipe) took a shot on goal but wasn’t able to get it past Flash’s goalkeeper Berna Valdovinos. A Sidekicks defender was out of place and it allowed the Flash’s Jorge Rios to put another one into the net and bring the Flash up 3-0 to round out the first quarter.

The second quarter started with both Sidekicks players Gustavo Piedra and Kleber Bismarck getting shots on goal, but barely missing out on scoring. The Flash put one into the net four minutes and thirty-nine seconds into the second quarter, the goal was credited to Edgar Flores and brought the Flash up 4-0. Then within a minute the Flash put another one past the goalkeeper and Jorge Rios got a hat trick and brought the Flash up 5-0. With less than a minute left in the half, the Sidekicks Felipe De Sousa put one into the net to put the Sidekicks on the board. The quarter ended with the Flash up 5-1.

The Flash came out of the locker room ready to play and scored two goals within minutes of the quarter starting, the goals were scored by Edgar Flores and Brayan Aguilar to bring the Flash up 7-1. With four minutes left in the third quarter, Jonathan Segura put one past the Flash’s keeper to cut their lead 7-2. A minute until the end of the quarter, Lipe put a rocket into the net to cut the Flash’s lead 3-7.

The fourth quarter was delayed in starting when two Flash players were kicked out of the game for throwing a punch, Brayan Aguilar, and spitting, Marco Antonio Tovar. The Flash then scored seconds into the quarter with Edgar Flores getting a hat trick and increased the Flash’s lead 8-3. The Sidekicks were out of position again and the Flash’s Victor Quiroz scored and increased the Flash’s lead 9-3. At 7:37 left in the quarter the Sidekicks put in Ricardinho Cavalcante as the sixth attacker to try to gain a man advantage. The Flash were out of position and Frederico Moojen tapped one into the goal to cut the Flash’s lead to 9-4. The game ended with the Flash taking home the win with a final score of 9-4.
