Juan Gamboa re-signs with the Sidekicks for the 2019-2020 season

(ALLEN, TEXAS: May 29, 2019) The Sidekicks have re-signed goalkeeper Juan Gamboa for the 2019-2020 MASL season. This will be Gamboa’s fourth season with the Sidekicks. Per team and league policies, terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Gamboa went to James Pace High School and attended the University of Texas at Brownsville. In the Sidekicks 2018-2019 season, Gamboa had 229 saves and a save percentage of 64.5% and was named to the Week 12 Sporturf Team of the Week.

He is expecting twins in the Fall and he and his wife could not be prouder. He made nods to his future children with custom keeper kits last season which included blue and pink accents one for each of his twins.

“Four years ago, I moved to Dallas to play for the Sidekicks. I left my family and friends to face a new challenge. I am very thankful to have signed for my fourth season with this great organization. I have gained a family, metaphorically and literally speaking, ever since I joined the team. I met my wife and will be welcoming our baby twins later this year. This is my home now, and I hope to stay here for a very long time,” said Gamboa.
